The Story of An Hour

• What interested me about this story in the first place was the long description it had compared to the others which caught my attention. And the intriguing use of words in the description such as "This dramatic short story" and "This suspenseful and climactic story will take you on an emotional journey."
• Plot: In the story, loved ones of the lady named Mrs. Mallard broke the news of her husband's death in a calm way due to her having problems with her heart. She, unlike any other people who at first unconsciously deny the truth, took the news at heart quickly and broke into tears. Her whole body ached. as time past very slowly she sat on a chair facing a window looking outside. At that moment she began reminiscing about her good days and about her better days ahead while a cold aura swept into her body. Then, as someone tries to open the door they come face to face with Mrs. Mallard's death from heart disease. 
• Theme: From my opinion, the story was about how a situation can greatly impact people and how in such a short time our state of mind can change completely, as if the world suddenly comes to a stop.
• After i finished reading, the story made me think about how we really do not know if we will be able to live the next day. Also how sudden situations makes us stop our daily routines and truly makes us stop and think about how precious a life is.
• I would recommend this story to others because of the post reading when it makes you reflect on what just happened.
