The Earth on Turtle's Back Response

 From the reading of "The Earth on Turtle's Back," I can say that the purpose of this story was to inform the reader a different way of how the earth came to exist. Apparently earth, land first existed at the very bottom of the ocean and then became on a turtle's back. I like how this also symbolizes in a way, how the first humans on earth came to be. I also like how the muskrat said, "I will bring up Earth or die trying." This shows courage, fearlessness, and just confidence all and all. Even if the thing was small, it was still able to do such a huge important job..

The poem written by Richard Cory was quite interesting and unique. The way the wording was set up was what made it unique. I would have never thought of using those words. The tone of the poem is to make the audience feel suspenseful and with a ending to reflect on. I think the theme of the story is that even though we are normal human beings and act a certain way when people are watching, in the end, we all have problems and situations we want to confront or get away from. In this case, Richard Cory decided to "run away" by ending his life...

"The Right to Your Opinion" Response:

I found the excerpt of the right to your opinion to be interesting. I liked how the author pointed out that when stating that you have the right to our opinion during a debate or discussion, it is irrelevant to do so. If you do end up mentioning that statement or opinion, that would not get you anywhere. We know that we have the right to our opinion, but if you just say it out of the blue then that would make it irrelevant.
